TL;DR: Foundation Kia turned what should’ve been a straightforward out-of-state purchase into a frustrating mess of paperwork errors, poor communication, surprise costs, and unresolved delivery damage.
Paperwork Issues:
- This was a very disorganized process. They assured me that they do many out-of-state deals, but their actions suggested otherwise. This was a horrible experience Stephen knew the exact car we were going there to see and instead of saying hey the car you want currently has a recall hold on it instead of playing game and having us look at different cars and trying to push us to pay a vehicle we didn’t want. CAUTION! Avoid this dealership! They added a lowjack charge of $1500 to the sales invoice after telling us they would remove it. When confronted after the sale they lied and the sales manager actually blamed us by saying that "you should always read what you are signing". When I asked the sales manager if their reputation was really worth it he replied by saying that they sell hundreds of cars there and isn't worried about it. I rarely write reviews, but my recent experience purchasing a vehicle from Foundation Kia was so frustrating that I feel obligated to share it.
I negotiated and so did they — I had other options so there was no reason not to. I was direct through the negotiations but not unkind in any way

After having been charged over $800 for an inhibitor switch which didn't fix the issue that I took my 2002 Kia Optima for. They said to bring it back in so they could find out what was wrong with the car. There was no way I would take it back in so they could overcharge me again. Took it to the mechanic who does my oil changes and lo and behold, it needed a tune up which fixed the issue with the car. I had always taken both my Kias to Foundation, but will NEVER take the cars to them again.
Steve was an outstanding support model with our purchase. We were having trouble making a decision between two vehicles. Steve never pushed in either direction, but helped in providing information on both. He also gave us personal time to discuss amongst ourselves and everything he promised is what was delivered. THIS PLACE is absolutely awful. Not only was a whole negotiation of the car horrible. They lied during the whole process. It took days to get a response from them to even get the deal. Joseph Siravo (in service department) will lie to you and tell you what you think you want to hear! You'll be doing his job for him and calling the warranty company to make sure that you are getting your claim completed and parts covered. He is hard to get ahold of because he will say he'll call you back which won't. It was the worst 3 and 1/2 weeks of my life !!!!
Overinflated new tires, was told I needed a new wiring harness when they didn’t try to fix it first, had a piece of my dash fall off (which was apart of the repairs I did) on my foot while driving, noticed missing screws, and was missing my front DL plate before I drove off the lot to pick up my vehicle. Buyer beware of the shake-down. Somewhere between the fictional land of the sales negotiation and the devious tactics of contract and financing our sales price, term, and interest rate all magically ballooned. Add that to a dubiously sketchy and glitchy "online" process where documents were delayed until the very last minute and then they would suddenly terminate mid-process and disappear (no less than 7 times). One gets the feeling that this outfit is more interested in a bloodbath than a relationship. Very disappointing.
